We are proud to announce that we will be present at Art Busan 2026 with a presentation by Lawrence James Bailey!

Lawrence James Bailey creates his works by embroidering directly onto fabric using a sewing machine. The work reflects his view that people seem to be increasingly distancing themselves from the natural world. In his portraits, nature is slowly reclaiming the human body: plants, leaves and other organic forms grow into and over the faces.

His visual language draws on the Green Man, a motif named by Lady Raglan in the 1930s. Traditionally shown as a male face intertwined with foliage, it appears across cultures in Asia, Europe, and North America, symbolizing fertility, renewal, and humanity’s connection to the earth.

Lawrence’s work invites viewers to lose themselves in the details and to be embraced by the natural world.
